Indian Frankincense

Loban-Benzoin

balsamic-spicy, slightly lemony scent with pine undertones

Natural aroma of Indian frankincense from Mystic Temple Incense.  Each package contains 15 grams - 9" thick sticks (5 pcs per package), while your bulk option offers you 100 grams (approx. 36 thick sticks per package) in zipped-bag with white fragrance name sticker. Your incense sticks are made in India and prepared as a fine masala blend of fragrant resins cultivated from the Indian Frankincense tree, also known as Loban-Benzoin and Sambrani. Your powdered resin incense is indigenous to western India, and blended with other fine ground wood powders, comprising over 25 ingredients and is charcoal-free.  Incense coloration is a natural light tan. Made in India. Incense burners shown in images are not included. Compared to the fragrance of Ethiopian or Somalian Frankincense, harvested in Ethiopia and Somalia, Loban by comparison, generally emits a balsamic-spicy, slightly lemony scent with pine undertones.

Loban (Gum Benzoin) resin is usually obtained from Styrax trees, primarily grown in tropical Asia (Java, Sumatra, Thailand), while the Indian variety known as Boswellia-Serrata grows in mountainous regions of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and the western Himalayas. While the resin is harvested in India, much of the Styrax-benzoin variety of resin is imported, even though the Boswellia species are originally native to India.
